MUMBO JUMBO

23:00-03:00 £3 B4 12 / £7 after / £5 (concessions)

Mumbo Jumbo mixes it up a whole heap.  Resident DJs Trendy Wendy, Steve Austin and Eva Crystaltips play everything from disco, funk and soul to electro and house: Saturday night party music all night long.

But Mumbo is very much a LIVE dance party, as ‘Bongo’ David Bernard gets busy on the live percussion alongside Erb & Ting (alias Al Roberts and Groove Armada’s MC MAD), also jamming live (guitar & vox).

AND upstairs it’s the LUCKY 7 SKA N REGGAE CLUB, with Tall Paul (The GoGo) and friends playing vintage ska, early reggae, calypso, 2-Tone, & Jamaican Sounds!

Two clubs for the price of one?! You bet!

OSCILLATE: SESSION VICTIM (ALL NIGHT LONG)

23:00-03:00 £6 / £8 / £9 / £10

“With the start of the new academic year upon us, what better way to kick things off than with the first instalment of Oscillate SEASON 2.  Rated Edinburgh’s most smile inducing, body grooving, guaranteed marble losing night by anyone with good taste.  For the start of the new season we are delighted to be able to welcome Session Victim to our adopted home The Bongo Club.  These guys need no introduction to many; however, for those unfamiliar with their work, CRACK magazine recently said: “from their enthusiastic off-kilter live shows to their signature brand of sunny, sample-laden house, Hauke and Matthias have seemingly nailed the formula for inducing wall-to-wall smiles on a dancefloor”.   With a record collection covering several decades of hip hop, funk, disco and soul and as well as house and techno cuts, it’s Session Victim’s passion for uncovering dusty vinyl treasures and the feeling that can be captured on a miniature moment in wax that inspires both their DJ sets and production environment.  Foolish not to mention the calibre of their production ability, with hits such as ‘Good Intentions’ and ‘Never Forget’ these guys will have the floor moving all night.”  Tickets  / Facebook
