MESSENGER: BOB MARLEY'S BIRTHDAY!

23:00 - 03:00 £5 b4 12 / £7 / £5 all night (students)

Messenger Sound System, the original roots advertiser, consistently programmes the heights of conscious reggae music, dub-wise and otherwise!  Crazy to think now that it first started in Edinburgh back in 1987 and that it’s been keeping the fires burning, every month, at the Bongo for two thirds of that time.  That’s 30, THIRTY, years at the heart of Edinburgh’s reggae scene, and 20 years here at the Bongo!

ELECTRIKAL: SHY FX FT. MC STAMINA MC

23:00 - 03:00 £12 (sold out) / £13 (sold out) / £15 / £16

SHY FX is the one of the original Ragga-Ruffneck pioneers from the 90s who bulldozed into the public eye with his stone cold classic Jungle anthem ‘Original Nuttah’. His light speed riddims married with rude boy rhymes create that unique SHY FX sound that we all know and love getting down to.  Joining the Ragga-jungle legend for his debut performance on our sound system is Electrikal favourite Stamina MC – vocalist, host and bad ass MC with a humongous stage presence who has performed for us in the past. The combination of these two musical giants will give the Electrikal speakers the rinse out they’ve been waiting for.  TICKETSFACEBOOK
