Hobbes Music is a hyped Edinburgh record label (established 2013) with an international roster of artists and releases from across the electronic music spectrum: from house, techno, electro, UKG and bass to ambient, dub, IDM and experimental via disco, Balearic, soundtrack styles and more.
Hobbes Music has been staging irregular events at Bongo (and appearing at one or two other nights) since 2016, featuring label artists and friends: JD Twitch (Optimo), Auntie Flo, Tobias Schmidt (Tresor), Michelle Manetti, Nightwave, Red Rack’em, Jacksonville, Exterior, Gaming, Leonidas & Hobbes, George T, Maastricht Research, Nina Stanger, Andrew Ingram (Slabs Of The Tabernacle), The Three Lives and more.
Club Nacht is a monthly night at The Mash House championing contemporary and classic dance music of a similar persuasion (house, techno, electro, disco, UKG etc), featuring special guests such as Bradley Zero, Marcel Vogel, Optimo, A Guy Called Gerald, Space Dimension Controller, Todd Edwards, Trance Wax, Move D, Prins Thomas, Céleste, Anish Kumar and more.
HM and CN first came together in February ’23, presenting German duo Coeo (Toy Tonics) to a capacity crowd at Bongo, with another winner following in September, featuring Glasgow’s Austin Ato (see pix from both dates here). Launching in January 2024, the two promoters join forces for a new monthly event at Bongo. Watch this space…
