The resurgent Forward Strategy Group aka Patrick Walker and Al Matthews made their Substance debut back in 2010 following their breakthrough ‘Applied Generics’ EP, and have gone on to produce a series of killer releases on the likes of Perc Trax, ＡＲＴＳ and Mord Records, slaying clubs the world over. The FSG discipline has though always been supplemented by a range of other electronic explorations, presented via numerous solo monikers. For the 12th Birthday, they have chosen to debut a special FSG live PA drawing on two of the very best, Bleaching Agent and User Engine.
Substance resident Dommm is riding high on his imminent debut artist release as Modus, incoming via La Cheetah Club‘s in house label, Outer Zone. Strong early support has come from the likes of Resident Advisor, Clone Records and Hyponik for the Detroit flavoured ‘Triple M EP’. Big things ahead.
Velocity Funk makes a welcome return following a period out the country, having last played back in January to a sold out Bongo for his ‘all night long’ slot.
Recognised by the authoritative Resident Advisor to be “one of Edinburgh’s most important outposts for house, techno and bass”, Substance brings a wide ranging collage of classic and cutting edge underground electronic music to the Bongo.
