“Edinburgh’s darkest and hardest queer night has returned for a second showing,” say the Principle 8 crew. “The first time we took over the Bongo club, Cowgate was rocked- the ground shook, doors were blasted off their hinges, and it seemed like half of you had entirely lost your minds. Now we’re back, and we’re ready to go bigger than ever!
(upstairs lineup tba)
Our up-and-coming resident DJs will bring you a fresh selection of garage, techno, breaks, bass, pop edits, jungle, and more hot and heavy UK heaters. This time we’re joined by four of our friends to open the upstairs for a second floor of madness. We’re raising funds for the Edinburgh Student Housing Cooperative, as members and residents.
A housing cooperative is a form of housing owned by a democratic group, rather than a private owner. ESHC is a rare form of cooperative that is not managed by paid staff or elected committee members, but by all 106 residents. Our fundraising drive is to meet our mission of low-cost, community run housing, despite the cost of living crisis. We plan to expand the cooperative in years to come so that more and more people can have the chance to escape exploitative landlords and manage their own housing together, no matter what background or means they have.
The ESHC Safer Spaces Policy will be in effect during the night.
We have zero tolerance for any predatory or non-consensual behaviour and will not hesitate to kick anyone out who will not treat others with respect- we hope that you would hold yourself and your friends to the same standard.
We also ask that patrons treat the venue with as much respect as if it was their own- the more time and money we have to spend clearing up, the less of these parties we can do. Save the riot for the afters. ;)”/span>
