Musician, producer, instrumentalist, rapper. One of the most hard-working and talented artists in Poland. For over a dozen years, he has been consistently following the chosen artistic direction. He achieved virtually everything on the hip-hop scene in the country.
Author of 21 music albums. The holder of 5 gold and 4 platinum discs. Three times laureate of Fryderyk – Academy Awards. For several years on an uninterrupted concert tour. One of the pioneers in using the instrumentalists’ band during hip-hop concerts in Poland. O.S.T.R. they are published in a unique editorial setting, for which Grzegorz Forin Piwnicki, a distinguished designer and illustrator, is responsible. O.S.T.R. have repeatedly debuted at the first place of the OLIS sales statement. The album “Carthage” recorded with the American-Canadian producer Marco Polo was in the first half of 2014 the best-selling Polish album according to the official summary of the Audio Video Producers Union.
Appreciated by the late Czesław Niemen, he collaborated many times with Michał Urbaniak and the Waglewski brothers (Fisz and Emade). Together with Kasia Nosowska, he was the artistic director of the Mens Granie 2013 tour. As part of the prestigious series Made In Polska he gave TVP Kultura an extraordinary, wonderfully produced concert. Liked and appreciated abroad, he collaborated with musicians from the American, British and Dutch hip-hop scene. Together with Chris Van Rootselaar and Jaap Wiewel, he co-creates the producer collective Killing Skills. His recordings are broadcast by both student stations and the Third Program of Polish Radio. A graduate of the Lodz Academy of Music in the violin class, he artfully uses his acquired classical knowledge in compositions based on black urban music.
O.S.T.R. comes from a musical family, was born and raised in Łódź. Here he began his career as part of the LWC and Obóz T.A. groups, but he quickly became known as the undisputed winner of free microphone competitions (freestyle battles). A short and accidental performance on the stage of the Prokadencja club in Lodz provided him with a contract in 2001 for his debut album at Asfalt Records. He is associated with this label until today. A friend of his fans, a sociable person, open, modest on a daily basis. Married, father of two sons.
