“Known for running the legendary SSL and Headset parties across Edinburgh and Glasgow, Skillis has spent the last decade curating some of the most crucial underground bookings to hit Scotland — from dubstep and grime to garage, jungle, and leftfield house. If you’ve been knocking about the capital’s club scene any time in the past ten years, chances are you’ve danced to one of his nights.
Headset didn’t creep in quietly either: its first party launched to a full-capacity Bongo crowd and never looked back. Built from the Cowgate up, it became a go-to for discerning dancers and heads alike, and eventually expanded into Glasgow, London and Bristol, where Skillis is now based.
These days he’s flying the flag for Scottish bass music from the South West — running nomadic Headset events across the UK, pushing releases through his Headset Records label, holding down a monthly show on Rinse FM’s SWU.FM, and selling out his much-loved Gay Garage parties in Bristol with a no-nonsense blend of UKG, speed garage and camp classics.
