“Jungle music began in England in the early 1990s, a truly unique period in the UK dance music scene,” explains Jungle Magik DJ/promoter DJ Kid, who cut his teeth on the Scottish (and consequently UK) rave circuit at the time.
“The urban sound began igniting dance floors across London with its gritty mix of deep basslines and breakbeat-infused rhythms, with many other influences coming from Dancehall, Hip-Hop, R&B Jazz, Funk, and anything else that producers could sample. If you haven’t experienced the authentic sounds of Jungle in a club setting, this is your opportunity.
Experience those original Junglist vibes played by a DJ who has been involved in the scene since the first Jungle tune dropped. This night is dedicated to the memory of MC Skibadee (1975-2022), who sadly passed away last year. Skibadee was an intrinsic part of the Jungle scene performing throughout the world.
DEAL WITH THE MATTER, DEAL WITH IT PROPER”
