Glaswegian DJ/producer Austin Ato creates records that encompass house, techno and disco, joyously playing around in that space.  Equally comfortable playing the most intimate, deep parties as the biggest main stages, Austin’s known for electric, energetic sets, with a real love and knowledge of the music.  

With continuous BBC Radio 1 (Pete Tong, Sarah Story and Danny Howard) and 6Music plays alongside support from leading lights of the underground (Honey Dijon, Paul Woolford, Cinthie, Chaos In The CBD, Black Loops, Ewan McVicar, TEED, Derrick Carter, among many more), it’s no surprise he’s been turning heads.

And he’s been bossing the international house scene.  Esteemed labels such as Phonica, Classic Music, Fools Gold and Berlin’s Aterral have all been calling on his highly versatile talents, topping digital sales charts on Beatport & Traxsource, while multiple international festival appearances, club slots and radio shows push his DJ profile ever higher.

CBD, Black Loops and Ewan McVicar to Derrick Carter and so many more. Add to that continuous BBC Radio1 and 6music plays and you can see why Austin is turning heads.

With the objective of making 2023 his best year yet, he set up a new label and party series, I Love Your Energy, releasing and playing back-to-back heaters, melters and belters.  A brand new EP drops next week, so you can expect a full arsenal of fresh heat on the night! The label kicked off with “Discolombo” in February, a polyrhythmic house track that branches into bass music that had Kink saying “I love it! This is techno madness in a house package” that has now become Austin’s biggest seller.

Followed up by “Get Madd” in April, a raucously wild Chicago acid roller that garnered even more support.

Alongside these are his release on Canada’s Kookoo Records, “Angels On Acid” another 303-drenched banger has done some serious business.

And his summery tune “What You Want” is going to hit hard!

Label owner and promoter Hobbes provides Room 1 support, with his record label (marking its tenth year in 2023) celebrating a diverse spectrum of electronic music, of course including house, techno, electro, acid and disco, not least via his productions with production buddy Leonidas.  Their 2017 release Rags Of Time (notably lead track Web Of Intrigue) was massive on the Balearic house/disco scene, with 2021 follow-up EP Aranath  generating a similar buzz.

With equally hyped releases from fellow label artists Kota Motomura and Kiji Suedo (via Tokyo and Osaka, respectively), Edinburgh’s Jacksonville, George T, Exterior and DALI, Glasgow’s Gaming, Maastricht Research (currently based in Norway) and latest signing Galun (from Moscow, currently in Tallinn), running the gamut from new shades of house , electro and techno, wild worldwide flavours, gnarly & experimental electronics to heady IDM, weighty dub vibes and blissed out ambient, there’s an HM release for just about every occasion but also plenty of dance floor bombs as well as deeper cuts in the HM arsenal…
