Jungle Magik is a night dedicated to classic and contemporary jungle and drum n bass, set up by DJ Kid, who was a resident at Manga (Edinburgh’s original, 90s drum n bass night) and later launched the Restless Natives label.
Jungle Magik has hosted select dates at Bongo since Autumn ’22, championing the legendary likes of Aphrodite and Fabio & Grooverider plus Kleu and Break.
TONIGHT
We host two legends of the drum and bass scene, since forming together 25 years ago @fabioandgrooverider have been pioneers of the jungle/dnb community. Making a name for themselves across the UK we are very excited that @junglemagik is bringing them along. With support from Jungle Magik founder @djkidscotland and with tunes from @harryjackson_21 @_corran_ and @itsdarrison on mic duties.
Upstairs we have even more to offer with a span of jungle/garage/grime tunes from @ji_2001 @gilbo_____ @bartek_lech and @__thelastdaysofpompeii

Nasty P has been a bastion of Hip Hop in Scotland for over 20yrs, supporting Beyoncé and Jay-Z (On the Run II Tour, `18), KRS-One, Roots Manuva, Rakim & many more.
He has also produced 5 albums, 2 EPs and hundreds of mixtapes and ran Edinburgh`s much-loved ‘I Love Hip Hop’ at Bongo (late 00/early 10s).

DJ Kid was influential in breaking Jungle music in Scotland (early 90s) and has performed alongside the likes of Goldie, Roni Size, Fabio & Grooverider across the UK, Europe and America for some of the most prestigious promoters of the day.
Known latterly for playing Drum & Bass, Jungle and Hip Hop are intrinsic parts of Kid’s musical journey.
