Pulse launch a new bi-monthly residency at the Bongo with club favourites and local legends, SLAM.  LINE UP: SLAM, Darrell Pulse, Sean Laird. Glasgow’s original techno duo need little introduction!  Back once again after headlining for Pulse v Headset last Easter, you know what to expect from these two: a tour de force on the global techno circuit.  Co-owners of Glasgow’s Riverside Festival, they also host the legendary Maximum Pressure warehouse parties, while their iconic Soma Records label boasts in excess of 600 releases, releasing Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle’s productions alongside some of today’s most cutting-edge techno artists.  Having recently put out a more experimental long player, ‘Athenæum 101, they have remixed the likes of Planetary Assault Systems, Clouds, Dax J, Damon Wild, Richie Hawtin, and Truncate while their weekly Slam Radio podcast is one of Techno’s most respected.  FACEBOOK

For ᴏᴠᴇʀɢʀᴏᴜɴᴅ’s fourth (!) birthday, they have a very special guest joining them at the Bongo. A hugely influential figure in UK underground dance music, Bristol’s Pinch (Tectonic, Planet Mu, Swamp 81, Honest Jon’s) is undoubtedly one of the most innovative DJs, producers, and label owners in the business. First rising to prominence for his groundbreaking contributions to the early dubstep scene, few can rival the diverse influences that Pinch incorporates into his work.  Pinch’s TectonicRecordings imprint is home to such artists as Loefah, Skream, Mala , Peverelist and Photek. His own productions can be heard on Planet Mu (OFFICIAL), SWAMP81, and Berceuse Heroique, sometimes working with collaborators such as MUMDANCE, Adrian Sherwood, Kahn and Roska.  Put simply, Pinch is one of the best to ever do it and they can’t wait to see him take control of Bongo for the first time.  TICKETS

Electrikal Sound System welcome back Benny L to Edinburgh!  Benny is up there with Serum and Voltage as one of this year’s most distinctive bassline sculptors. Obscenely on-point and sonically mature beyond his years, his basslines don’t bang but groan and moan under heavy production pressure. AGBEKO (LIVE) x SAMEDIA SHEBEEN

11-piece Afrobeat-inspired rock-funk-psych juggernaut from Manchester, Agbeko play live with support from the mighty Samedia Shebeen DJs.  Agbeko were born out of admiration for the enduring music of 1970s West Africa and have spent the past three years honing a singular, contemporary sound built upon its teachings. An onslaught of horns, guitars, percussion and gutsy vocals, the eleven-strong outfit deliver powerful songs packed with riffs, groove and lyrical prowess to move gig-goers, festival throngs and afro-funk aficionados alike.  Named one of Band on the Wall’s ‘ones to watch in 2019’ and with a growing arsenal of tunes, and radioplay, Agbeko are fast gaining a reputation for inducing anthemic singalongs and mass dance-offs to stages throughout Europe and beyond. The circus is back in town!  After a couple of months in winter camp Poetry Circus and Voicex are back at the Bongo Club on 27th March with the phenomenal Post Punk Cabaret – a thrillingly electrifying mix of spoken word, physical theatre and music.  We have Spoken Word from Poetry Circus regulars: Victoria McNulty, Rana Marathon, AR Crow, Scott Redmond, Suky Goodfellow and Max Scratchmann.  Physical theatre from the incredible Andromada Mystic.  And – making their joint debut on the Poetry Circus stage – we have music from Alive and Brel and Voicex.
