The Soundhouse Organisation presents … the incomparable Moishe’s Bagel on Thursday 19 June 2014. All the proceeds from this concert will go towards founding The Soundhouse, a bespoke live music venue and musicians’ facility in Edinburgh.
A five-piece firecracker of a band presenting thrillingly original cutting-edge klezmer and folk music. Featuring virtuoso performances from some of Scotland’s finest musicians, these guys play an intoxicating, life-affirming mix of Eastern European dance, jazz grooves, folk tunes, and Middle Eastern rhythms.
Seeing Moishe’s Bagel live is an unforgettable experience: expect quite a bit of improvisation, bucket loads of energy, dazzling technique, and classical rigour. Highly danceable, the band are visually and aurally exciting.
‘Exhilarating, full-flavoured stuff, often breathtakingly intricate but played with jubilation … the Bagel acquires the momentum of an express train’ The Herald
‘Expressive and raunchy … improvising confidence but with a classical attention to detail’ The Guardian
