“We’re back at Bongo for Revolt’s 4th edition of sonic experimentation and club madness,” they say.
“Resident artist Harley Beentjes presents a host of revolting works in his solo installation on the upper floor alongside his magazine ‘How to Revolt’ which will be available to purchase on the night. The magazine highlights some of Beentjes’ work so far including curated graphics, posters and texts, as well as photography by Jack McKenna and Berenika Murray, all of which have formed an integral part of the Revolt aesthetic.
We also warmly welcome DJ and producer ORTRA to the stage. Hailing from Switzerland via Germany, ORTRA’s DJ sets are heavily inspired by UK club music and blend effortlessly between complex rhythms and rave anthems. His own production work goes hand-in-hand with his sets, informed by explorations in synthesis and rhythm. Going b2b for 2 hours with Petfood, expect a fusion of uncompromising club and electronic madness.
Revolt is our attempt at interlacing the club night experience with a holistic experience of creativity and experimentation. Each edition features a unique art installation made by artists from Edinburgh and beyond, as well as uniquely-crafted sounds and visuals from residents Petfood and Harley Beentjes.
Creating a space that allows for total freedom of expression without boundary is one of our central tenets. Revolt is a space for liberation of all kinds. Respecting your fellow partygoer is an obvious imperative. As such, we will not tolerate any breaches or abuses of any kind on the night.”
