Mumbo Jumbo is a night with a mix of musical styles from funk and hip hop to house and electronica care of resident DJs Trendy Wendy [Tackno / Playgirl Mansions] and Steve Austin [Headspin]. There’s also live congas and percussion by Bongo Dave. In the back room tonight are Andy Taylor and Colin Millar, playing funk, soul, hip hop, latin and mash-ups.
Andy has released on DJ Smoove‘s Bootleg Wack Records label and has an album on DJ Smoove‘s Wass Records, plus releases via Austria‘s excellent Resense Records.
Colin runs and records for Hero Records and was resident at the legendary Headspin.
Mumbo Jumbo joins-the-dots between musical styles, mixing up funk and soul, throwing in beats, bootlegs and mash-ups, taking you through the disco to house and electro, all sprinkled with character and liberal helpings of cracking vocals! This is Saturday night party music at its best!
