Here’s the skinny for the night, in Lionoil’s own words…

‘We had two belters at the Bongo last year, culminating with our birthday with Move DTelfort & Philip Budny. They were dead fun, so we’re going to do a couple more this year!

An international pairing of two hotly-tipped women – get ready for a night of mind-warping industrial boogie, electro, proto-techno and everything between.

Lena is a resident at Düsseldorf institution Salon des Amateurs, nearby her hometown Cologne. She’s released on Cómeme, and as a firm member of the tribe she presents a monthly radio show ‘Sentimental Flashback’, which is class and very highly regarded. A packed diary with appearances at Panorama Bar, Berghain, Corsica, Concrete, Dekmantel alongside her long running residency tells you all you need to know about her prowess as a selector.

Violet a.k.a. Inês Coutinho is a relative newcomer to the international circuit, but with an equally expansive portfolio. Founder of Rádio Quântica in her home Lisbon, she started the naive label last year and made a very strong impression at Berlin Atonal festival last year (recording below, so so dope). There is a strong political dimension to Ines’ work; organising a series of all-female techno releases for International Womens Day, which began with her 2014 cover of detroit classic ‘Transition’ by Underground Resistance, which attracted much praise from the dance music community and UR themselves. She played Wasabi Disco at Sneaks a couple years ago, and we’re delighted to welcome her to the Bongo.

tl:dr if you like thoughtful techno and dancing your socks off, this is the party for you.

n.b. it goes without saying: bring all your positive and inclusive vibes and leave your bullshit at home, we actively won’t tolerate it – and you won’t be welcome back to Lionoil dances if you don’t know how to respect others.
