DROPKICK + DANIEL MCGEEVER & BAND + THE VAPOUR TRAILS + SHAUN MCLACHLAN (LIVE)

Friday 10 December
19:00 - 22:00 £15

Dropkick celebrate their recently released ‘Best of’ compilation with an evening of amazing Scottish melody makers.

Hailing from the east of Scotland, Dropkick have drawn on influences such as Wilco, Teenage Fanclub and The Jayhawks to produce their own blend of harmony-driven, power-pop for well over a decade.  This is a rescheduled show, partly to finally celebrate the 2020 release of the band’s new record, The Scenic Route, while also focussing on the ‘Best of Dropkick’ compilation, released since then.
“This is country-pop at its finest.” Maverick Magazine

“Those who have yet to latch onto them are surely missing something special….Indie, powerpop, accomplished harmonies, alt.country tendencies. What’s not to love?” The Herald newspaper

Making their Edinburgh debut are the fantastic VAPOUR TRAILS from Aberdeen. A band filled with jangling guitars, catchy melodies and tight harmonies but with their own psychedelic twist. After a very well-received debut album in 2019 , they followed it up with another set of songs in 2020, packed with more great tunes, before releasing a new mini-album during lockdown. Prolific!

“…mini-album of seven of the catchiest songs I’ve heard in a long time.” Daggerzine

Joining the band for this show is local singing genius DANIEL MCGEEVER, who will be performing with his band. As well as being a member of Delta Mainline and The Wellgreen, Daniel released his first solo record with renowned Spanish label You Are The Cosmos recently and will be showcasing material from that record.

“A great romantic album that stands up to multiple listens, and highly recommended.” Powerpopholic

Opening the show is the hugely talented SHAUN MCLACHLAN. Best known for his role in local legends Delta Mainline, this gig will be Shaun’s first as a solo artist. He’ll be performing new songs, including his first single ‘When we dance’, and a few stripped back songs from the Delta Mainline catalogue.
