DEVIL DISCO CLUB

4 December 2009

Trouble is back 'n' black!

Digital Jones bring the live juice, and no doubt some great outfits too, for our special MASKED DANCE PARTY tonight.  You can be sure the Devil Disco Club DJs - Kris Wasabi (Wasbi Disco), Nick Yuill (Solescience, Shoot The Pump), Hobbes & Erik d'Viking (Trouble DJs) - will also come correct, covering all bases from soul and rap, myriad strains of vintage disco from New York, classic eighties boogie, cosmic, italo and other rarities, not to mention some poppin' electro-funk and proto-house gems.  You know where it's at!  Don't forget your mask!!

PLAYING LIVE:  Digital Jones

Since they fired up the stage, early doors, at Trouble's hysterically over-subscribed Bulleit event with Marlena Shaw, Jazzanova & Greg Wilson all the way back in January, DIGITAL JONES have been keeping a very low profile this year.  They've been busy as bees in the studio and will be taking this opportunity to unveil a completely fresh, new live set.  You really should know about these future-retro, electro-soul championing freestylers already.  But, if you don't, now's your chance to catch them live and find out what all the fuss is about!  With inimitable front-woman Nikki Kent, on vocal duties, paired with studio brains Phil McBride, Digital Jones have got the kind of energy and sass we love to see on stage at the Devil Disco Club.

http://myspace.com/digitaljones

The Devil Disco Club is a new party about going back to basics, embracing your dark side and letting it all hang out.  It's about listening to some of the most exciting new dance music out there alongside the classics and it's about checking out a buzzing new live act that will move your feet and engage your mind.  It's about doing all of this alongside some of your favourite people in one of Embra's favourite venues: the Bongo Club.

Music: soul, rap, boogie, italo, cosmic, disco, electro-funk, acid & early/proto-house: re-edits, remixes, extended versions etc
