About & Contact

The Bongo Club has been breaking new ground since it was set up in 1996.

Running as a cafe, exhibition and rehearsal space during the day, it transforms into a multi functional, multi media venue for live music, theatre and clubs at night.

In Oct 2003 we moved from the much loved but disintegrating site in New Street to beautiful new location in Holyrood Road and kicked off proceedings with an awesome set from Slum Village.

The originators of its much imitated style, The Bongo Club specializes in the art and music of the underground. Supporting marginalised artists, both local and international, mixing live music, film, theatre and DJ's The Bongo Club continues to break the traditional mould for a nightclub.

Photographs
Most of the pictures on this website were taken by Jack Waddington (aka KDY-side) who has mastered the tricky skill of producing 'club' photography with aplomb. To view Jacks work visit his site www.kdy-side.com Cheers Jack!

‘The location may have changed, but the Bongo Club seems to have lost none of its inspired chaos.’ The Scotsman, October ’03.
