Edinburgh native Joe Powers, aka Proc Fiskal, returns to the Bongo, having blown up the spot with a killer dub set last time he played here (May). Powers was signed by the pioneering Hyperdub imprint earlier this year, label boss Kode 9’s ears obviously having been pricked up by the Scottish maestro’s fresh productions. Proc Fiskal has managed to give grime tropes a healthy shot in the arm, with an EP that sounds simultaneously classic and contemporary. All rise!
