Dog on a Swing
Dog on a Swing is the pseudonym under which Ed Ritchie writes and plays music, based in Edinburgh. Sometimes solo, he likes to bring in other musicians on a fluid and flexible basis. DOAS have released two studio EPs. The second, After Work, is about the downtime once work concludes for the day/weekend. A full-length album is currently being recorded at Graeme Mearns’ Red Room studio. Onstage, DOAS have played over 300 sets since 2012. Highlights include supporting Thomas Truax and opening Rally and Broad’s first show of their fourth season with a stealth choir in tow. Ed is looking forward to finishing the album and playing as many gigs with as many people as possible.

Jules and the Blue Garnets
Jules and the Blue Garnets are an Edinburgh based folk/pop band, described as ‘fresh, clear…no saccharine. A bit like apple cider vinegar…tingly’.
Lead singer and writer, Jules, formed the band alongside producer and guitarist, Rob in 2012 and they soon recorded their self titled EP. Fast forward to 2016 and they have released a follow up single, performed all over Scotland alongside many amazing artists, and following a busy stint in the 2016 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, they’re back in the studio and looking forward to releasing their new EP in Winter 2016.
Jules, Rob and percussionist, Chris, have recently welcomed bass player, Jamesy to the mix. Having known each other since their early teens, the four musicians work closely together to create their own unique, progressive sound. This sound has been described as ‘canned Summer’, ‘perfection’ and ‘stunningly beautiful’. When supporting Runrig at the Perth Concert Hall, fans were told to expect ‘a beautiful voice and catchy songs’.

The Micro Band are an Edinburgh based band who lovingly united in 2014 to yield happy vibes and fun music that make your face smile and your body move! Mixing between genres such as pop, soul, funk, folk, The Micro Band always play with fun and energy, bringing colourful stage presence wherever they play.

Acquired Taste Productions, formed in 2014 as a student project, is a live music events and promotion company, based in Fife, Scotland. Acquired Taste, run by audio engineer Sarah May and singer and performer Chloe-Anne Watson, believe that musicians should always be paid for their work and are an artist friendly company. Every ticket sold is split equally to support the performers and help Acquired Taste continue to grow and bring more of the best live music to audiences, in a safe, fair and supportive environment.
After testing the waters last November with a successful showcase night at Edinburgh’s Cabaret Voltaire, Acquired Taste have put on a monthly acoustic night at Kirkcaldy’s Cupcake Coffee Box which received glowing reports for its intimate surroundings and excellent choice of artists. With their studies now finished, Acquired Taste can concentrate fully on putting on the best showcase nights across Fife and Edinburgh and turning their passion for live music into a venture for everyone to enjoy.
Acquired Taste Nights is the company’s latest project and brings Acquired Taste’s special, memorable evenings of live music to Edinburgh’s fantastic Bongo Club. Showcasing three of our favourite performers each night, Acquired Taste Nights is an evening for both fans and audiences to discover something new at the bargain price of £5 (£6 on the door). Come along and support our local artists, while having a great night of music and fun.
