an exhibition of cityscape paintings by Edd Wellesley-Davies

Having spent the last few years working and painting in the city of Bristol and putting on exhibitions with “DIVERSION” arts co-operative, Edd is proud to present his first show in Edinburgh.

In this collection of paintings Edd gives you his interpretation of the contemporary urban world with his own unique style of city portraits. Here details of windows and doors, of brick work and even people and cars are stripped away to reveal the shape form and patterns contained within our homes, places of work, our roads, our trees and so on. Alongside this Edd strives to show the relationship between nature and architecture. Simple shapes and block colour make up everything to reveal what he believes to be the beauties and sculpture of our modern cities.
